Smell gas? Leave the house right away without touching switches or the thermostat, and call your gas utility from outside. Once it's safe, request a visit for repairs.
Older, compact houses. Englewood began as Orchard Place in the 1860s and incorporated in 1903, and a lot of its housing is older and compact. Furnaces usually live in a basement or a utility closet, return air is often undersized, and the ductwork has been through several equipment swaps. We find what's actually failing and explain it in plain language before any repair.
Central air added later. Plenty of older Englewood homes were built without central air and had it added years later on ductwork sized for heat. That mismatch shows up as weak airflow upstairs and, on hot days, an indoor coil that ices over. A dirty filter makes it worse.
Infill around CityCenter. CityCenter Englewood sits on the old Cinderella City mall site, which opened in 1968 as the largest mall west of the Mississippi. Newer townhomes and apartments around it and along South Broadway put furnaces in closets and condensers on pads, roofs, or balconies — tell us about access when you book.
Call 720-471-8705 or request a visit at HVACYID.com. Tell us the house, the symptom, and the zip. Workmanship warranty on every repair — if it isn't right, we come back.

Usually low airflow — a clogged filter, closed registers, or ducts too small for the AC — and sometimes low refrigerant from a slow leak. Turn cooling off, check the filter, and request a visit. Refrigerant work stays with us.
A working detector is the first DIY item every house should have, but one detector is not a whole-house plan. Follow local code on placement, especially near sleeping areas.
