Furnace tune-up in Thornton and the Denver metro: what it covers

A fall furnace tune-up is a seasonal visit — heating inspection, filter check, safety test, written findings. Here's what happens, what you can do first, and how to request a visit.

Smell gas? Leave the house right away without touching switches or the thermostat, and call your gas utility from outside. Once it's safe, request a visit for repairs.

Fall Heat Ready specials (offer ends November 1, 2026): Furnace startup — $120 · Duct cleaning — from $350 · Startup + duct cleaning combo — from $375 · 10% off humidifier or UV installs

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM · Emergency available

What the visit covers

  1. 1

    Heating inspection

We look over the heating system before the first cold night finds the problem for you: ignition, burners, the heat exchanger, electrical connections, and the venting.

  2. 2

    Filter check

We check the filter and tell you the size and how often your house needs a new one. Swapping filters between visits is a homeowner job — we'll show you where it goes.

  3. 3

    Safety test

We run a safety test on the furnace. Ignition, the heat exchanger, electrical, and venting are the tech visit, not DIY.

  4. 4

    Written findings

You get written findings in plain language. If something needs repair, you decide — no pressure, and nothing gets replaced without your OK.

  5. 5

    What you can do first

Put in a fresh filter, open the supply registers, and clear boxes and furniture away from the returns and the furnace closet. That takes a cheap problem off the list before we get there.

What does a furnace tune-up include?

A tune-up is a seasonal visit: heating inspection, filter check, safety test, and written findings. Ignition, the heat exchanger, electrical, and venting are covered by the tech, not left to the homeowner.

When should I get a furnace tune-up in Thornton?

Fall, before the first real cold snap. The first night the heat comes on is when a lot of Denver metro houses find out the furnace sat all summer. Booking ahead of that first cold week is easier than an emergency call.

How much does a furnace tune-up cost?

Seasonal tune-ups are quoted per visit. This fall the Fall Heat Ready specials are on (the offer ends November 1, 2026): Furnace startup — $120 · Duct cleaning — from $350 · Startup + duct cleaning combo — from $375 · 10% off humidifier or UV installs. Request a visit and tell us what you need.

Do you do tune-ups outside Thornton?

Yes. Fall furnace tune-ups run across our whole service area: Thornton, Aurora, Arvada, Westminster, Broomfield, Superior, Firestone, Brighton, Lakewood, Centennial, Highlands Ranch, Parker, Littleton, Englewood, Commerce City, and the North Denver metro north of 136th Avenue and I-25 — plus the wider Denver metro and Front Range. If your zip isn't listed, send it anyway.

When can I book a tune-up?

Our hours are Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM. Request a visit and we'll set a window. The Fall Heat Ready specials end November 1, 2026.

What if I smell gas?

Smell gas? Leave the house right away without touching switches or the thermostat, and call your gas utility from outside. Once it's safe, request a visit for repairs.

Will you try to sell me a new system?

Only if the one you have is actually done. We repair first. If replacement is the honest path, you'll get numbers and time to think.

Can I do my own furnace tune-up?

You can swap the filter and clear the vents. Anything behind a panel — ignition, burners, the heat exchanger, wiring, and venting — is a tech visit. Do not open panels.
